Fortunately there are still many ways to stay active while staying home or appropriately far from others. There are also more resources and apps than one can imagine so we’ve whittled down the options to a few websites and apps that will help you stay on track with spring training until you can return to your regularly scheduled routines. Peloton – 90-day free trial of the at home app.
A mix of running, strength, toning, cycling, yoga, meditation and outdoor workouts. Filter thousands of classes by type, length, time and your favorite music. Don’t own Peloton equipment? No problem. Peloton Digital Membership still offers fitness programs with any type of equipment or none at all.
Nike Training Club – lots of free workouts and free access to the premium account until May 31.
The Nike Training Club app provides free workouts for everything from bodyweight-only sessions, yoga classes, targeted training programs, and full-equipment home workouts for all fitness levels.
All Out Studio – free 14-day trial
Access over 100 workouts from fitness trainers. You’ll get fully-programmed workouts that will help you achieve your goals.
The Sufferfest – free 14-day trial
Search 11 categories of workouts including climbing, drills, and endurance. You’ll also find strength training and yoga geared specifically toward cyclists.
FitOn – Free!
Workouts are based on the equipment you have – or don’t have! They also have a ‘WFH workout challenge’ you can join with your friends, so it’s another to stay social while socially distancing.
Fitness Blender – Free
Recommended by John Giebler for its fitness videos. They also let you put together a workout plan if you want to have a structured 2 week, 4 week or 8 week routine.
Strength training for cycling
Just looking for a few quick videos? The internet is full of workout videos but Bicycle Magazine has a host of great videos that specifically focus on helping you get into cycling shape. Better more, the accompanying articles include images highlighting the correct form and movements as you go through these quick strength training routines.
