Take a look at a few of our favorite cycling items that might be just the right inspiration as you’re trying to find something special for your cyclists this holiday season.
What costs less than $40 USD, weighs a mere 3.2 ounces (91 grams), fits into the palm of your hand, yet can carry your cycling shoes, cleats, helmet, cycling shorts, rain gear, a jacket, your wallet, passport, large water bottle and a bottle of wine? The Osprey Ultralight Stuff Pack! This too-good-to-be-true pack has already traveled on a few ExperiencePlus! bike tours with staff members, and let us just say it is the perfect carry-on pack!
Do you ever find yourself in hotel room with multiple devices to charge and only one outlet? Anker makes a great line of USB wall chargers with 2 – 10 USB ports for fast charging of all your devices. And with a multiple port charger you can stop carrying extra charging “bricks” and recharge multiple electronics from one outlet with this great charger.
In our opinion the Topeak D2 Digital Smart Head Tire Pressure Gauge is one of the most accurate and durable gauges on the market. In addition to road-bike tires, it’s great for plus-sized mountain bike tires (which are sensitive to even a pound or two of pressure) and really anything else you can find in your garage and resembles a tire. Tire pressure gauges are notoriously inaccurate but this gauge has proven itself to be trustworthy and even pivots to reach difficult valve stems, is easy to read, and fits both Presta and Schrader valves.
To be honest the US staff pretty much loves the entire Hydro Flask collection, but when forced to pick one, we’d chose the 16 oz Coffee Flask! It fits in a bike water bottle cage, purse, or the side pocket of a back-pack and keeps your chosen beverage nice and hot (or icy cold) for hours. The lid will also save the contents of your bag should the mug shift around as you’re riding to work, walking the dog or on an afternoon coffee shop run. At around $25 it’s a great gift and comes in an entire rainbow of colors to choose from.
Any glove that is a mitten AND a fingerless glove in one has a pretty good shot at winning us over. Nadine has already sung praises for Patagonia’s Better Sweater, and now the Patagonia Better Sweater Fleece Glove has caught our eyes! What better design than a mitten that you can pop open to have the use of your fingers when locking your bike up, clipping your helmet, handling your house keys, taking a call on your phone … all without having to take your gloves off!
