We are very proud to be featured in National Geographic Traveler Magazine’s “50 Tours of a Lifetime” issue for both ExperiencePlus!’s itineraries and tour guides. Our Bicycling the Danube Plus! Hungary tour is showcased as 1 of 50 tours of a Lifetime for 2011. Also included in the magazine is National Geographic Traveler’s picks for the Top 10 Tour Guides in the world featuring our very own sisters and second generation owners, Maria Elena Price and Monica Price.
Norie Quintos, editor of the National Geographic 50 Tours issue said “This year we are highlighting 10 great guides who exemplify the new model of guiding. Where once they were walking encyclopedias, today’s top guides are often a little like life coaches, asking questions to help you get the most out of your trip and pushing you out of your comfort zone.”
Both Monica and Maria Elena started traveling on tour with their parents, Rick and Paola, when they could barely walk, but they could ride a bike. Cumulatively they have traveled with over 10,000 guests and pedaled in more than 20 countries in the past 25 years as they shared their love of travel, people and bicycling.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be recognized” says Maria Elena, “Monica and I are so honored to be included in this group of 10 outstanding guides! We both feel very strongly about the importance of connecting people to the places we love. We use bicycle travel as a means to that end and hope that we can enable every one of our guides to passionately facilitate that meaningful connection.”
Although they don’t go on tour as often as they used to, they still manage to find their way out from behind the computer a few times a year.
